FAQ Frequently Asked Questions

What Is A Mil Thickness?

A "mil" is a unit of thickness equal to one thousandth of an inch. To convert mil to inches take mil & divide by 1000.
Ex: 4 mil/1000 =.004 inches

To convert mil to gauge, take mil and multiply it by 100.
Ex: .60 mil x 100 = 60 gauge.

HOW DO I MEASURE A PLASTIC POLY BAG?

WxL Bag dimensions are always inside dimensions unless otherwise specified.  Please note that bag sizes can have a tolerance variance of +/- .25" and a mil variance of +/- 10%.

The width of the bag is the "Opening" and is called out first.  The second dimension on a flat bag is the length.

On reclosable zipper bags the measurement is WxL + "Lip" area above the zipper.

On a gusseted poly bag measure the WxLxD.  The bag opening left to right, then the length, and lastly the "Gusset" or "Depth" of the bag.

Do You Carry Environmentally Eco Friendly Packaging Products?

Yes we do! Many of our products are eco-friendly and have recycled content in them. Some of our environmentally friendly packaging products are corrugated boxes, sheets & pads, bubble and foam cushioning made with post consumer and recycle plastic. Paper products like kraft paper rolls and sheets, single face corrugated wrap, newsprint, dunnage and cellulose all have recycled content. Our BCLIPS can create a reusable box packaging design.

How Do I Determine Corrugated Box Strength?

200# test boxes have a bursting strength of at least 200 pounds per square inch.  Some boxes are determined by Edge Crush Test (ECT) which is a test that measures stacking strength.  A box with an ECT of 32 may have a bursting strength of 130 - 190 pounds.
